Here are more purple and green blocks, but without the white squares this time. Thank you for all your comments last week — it was unanimous to leave out the white, and you were so right! I’m crazy for 4-patches, and I love the secondary 4-patch design that is emerging. 🙂
Nigel the dog has me SO well trained now! Whenever I lay out quilt blocks on the floor, he runs straight over and sits on them. Then he gives me a cute look. Then I tell him how cute he is. And then I give him a dog biscuit. He’s a clever boy. 😉
To see what other quilters have on their Design Walls today, head on over to Judy’s blog to find a list of links.
Happy Quilting!
My cat Sammy does the same thing, anything new he has to sit on. Love how the quilt is looking and yes I also think it is better without any white.

I agree that it looks better without the white blocks. I love purple and green together.

Colors are Great — Just in time for Mardi Gras season. Although I believe down here in South Louisiana, we are having a black and gold Mardi Gras. GO SAINTS!
That is the cutest face how can you not give him a biscuit. Love the colors on the quilt.
love the quilt and when the blocks make a secondary pattern it’s so cool. Nigel is too cute.
What a perfect quilter’s dog!
Pretty blocks if you can see them behind Nigel:)
I’m glad you decided to eliminate the white. Having the four patches really adds to the design.
Nigel looks like a real sweetheart. My lovely kitty Petunia loved to test any fabric brought into the house. She passed away last July. We still miss her, but I have to admit, without all of her hair, its’ easier to have my allergies under control.
Nigel is cute! and he needs another cookie. I love the green and purple together.
It’s looking great!
I have a doggy quilt model around here too….Nigel is so cute!
Thanks for all the nice comments, everyone! I’m glad you like my Nigel. He always has been interested in sewing fabric and sometimes steals little bits to play with. Purple is his favourite colour, and although I read somewhere that dogs can’t see colours the way humans do, he always seeks out the purple bits.
He’s a little old man now, age 13. He’s been my little shadow lately because our other dog, Vida Mae (age 16), passed away just before Christmas, and we’ve all been missing her a lot.
Take care, and thanks for visiting! 🙂
